Full Definition
Guyot is a cane-pruning system where one (single Guyot) or two (double Guyot) fruiting canes are retained each year, with spurs for next year's canes. Common in Burgundy, Bordeaux, and cool climates. It offers more flexibility than cordon training and is thought to produce more complex wines, though it requires more skilled labor.
