Wine made from multiple grape varieties or vineyard sources.

Winemaking

Full Definition

A blend combines wines from different grape varieties, vineyard sites, or vintages. Blending allows winemakers to achieve complexity and balance unattainable from single sources. Famous blending regions include Bordeaux (Cabernet/Merlot), Rhone (Grenache/Syrah/Mourvedre), and Champagne. Field blends are multiple varieties grown and vinified together.
