Field Blend

Multiple grape varieties planted and harvested together.
Full Definition
A field blend contains multiple grape varieties planted in the same vineyard, harvested together, and co-fermented. Traditional in old vineyards before varietal planting became standard. Field blends can produce uniquely integrated wines, as varieties ripen and ferment together. Common in old-vine Zinfandel and Portuguese wines.
