Free Run
/FREE RUN/
Juice or wine that drains naturally without pressing.
Full Definition
Free run is juice that drains from grapes by gravity alone, without pressing. For white wines, free run juice is collected as grapes are loaded into the press. For reds, it's the wine that drains from the tank after fermentation. Free run is typically lighter, more elegant, and higher quality than press wine.
