Hybrid

A grape variety bred from two different species.
Full Definition
Hybrids are grape varieties created by crossing different Vitis species, typically vinifera with American species for disease resistance. Common hybrids include Seyval Blanc, Chambourcin, and Marquette. They're important in cold climates and humid regions where vinifera struggles. EU wine laws largely restrict hybrid use in quality wine.
