Parcelle

/par-SEL/

A specific plot of vineyard land.

Full Definition

Parcelle (or parcel) refers to a specific defined plot within a vineyard, often with distinct characteristics. Single-parcel wines showcase one plot's terroir. In Burgundy's fragmented ownership, one domaine may own parcels in dozens of different vineyards. Modern precision viticulture manages parcels individually.
