Garrafeira is a Portuguese designation indicating extended aging: reds must age 2+ years in barrel and 1+ year in bottle; whites need 6 months in barrel and 6 months in bottle. Similar concept to Spanish Reserva. The term also refers to a wine shop or cellar.
