Full Definition

Fruity describes wines with prominent fruit character, whether fresh, dried, or cooked. Different from fruit-forward intensity, fruity simply indicates fruit presence. Fruit types include citrus, tropical, stone fruit, berries, and orchard fruit. Primary fruity character often fades as wines develop secondary and tertiary notes.
