Full Definition
The Right Bank refers to Bordeaux wine regions east of the Gironde/Dordogne rivers: Saint-Emilion, Pomerol, and satellites. Clay and limestone soils favor Merlot, which dominates blends. Wines are typically softer and earlier-maturing than Left Bank Cabernet-based wines. Famous estates include Petrus, Le Pin, and Cheval Blanc.
