French term meaning sweet; sweetest level in sparkling wine.
Full Definition
Doux means sweet in French. For Champagne and sparkling wines, it's the sweetest classification with over 50 grams per liter of residual sugar. For still wines, doux or moelleux indicates a sweet style. Rarely seen in modern Champagne, more common historically.
