Demi-Sec

/deh-mee SEK/

Medium-sweet sparkling wine.

Full Definition

Demi-sec ('half-dry') is a sweetness level for sparkling wine containing 32-50 grams per liter residual sugar. Despite the name, it's noticeably sweet. Demi-sec Champagnes pair well with desserts, particularly fruit-based ones. The Loire Valley uses demi-sec for medium-sweet still wines like Vouvray.
