Full Definition

Angular describes wines with sharp, hard edges - acidity or tannin that juts out rather than flowing smoothly. Young wines may be angular but soften with age. Permanently angular wines lack integration and harmony. The opposite of round, smooth, or supple. Not necessarily negative for wines intended for aging.
