Wine faults are undesirable characteristics from production problems, contamination, or poor storage. Major faults include cork taint (TCA), oxidation, volatile acidity, Brettanomyces, heat damage, reduction, and refermentation. Some faults (brett, slight oxidation) are debated - acceptable in traditional styles, unacceptable in modern context.
