Full Definition
Dessert wines are sweet wines with high residual sugar, served with or as dessert. Production methods include late harvest, botrytis infection, drying grapes (passito), fortification, or freezing (ice wine). Famous examples include Sauternes, Tokaji, Vin Santo, and Port. Sugar levels range from moderately sweet to intensely sweet.
