Full Definition
Cloudy describes wine with visible suspended particles or lack of clarity. In conventional wine, cloudiness indicates a fault (protein instability, refermentation, or contamination). However, some natural wines are intentionally cloudy from minimal fining/filtration. Context determines if it's a fault or style choice.
