Full Definition
A clone is a vine propagated vegetatively from a single mother vine, selected for specific characteristics like disease resistance, yield, cluster size, or flavor profile. Different clones of the same variety can produce notably different wines. Famous examples include Dijon clones of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
