Nutty describes aromas of hazelnut, almond, walnut, or cashew. Can result from controlled oxidation (Sherry, aged Champagne), lees aging, or bottle development. Appropriate in Sherry, aged white Burgundy, and vin jaune. In young wine, may indicate premature oxidation fault.
