Mailing List
/MAY-ling list/
Waiting list for allocation to high-demand wines.
Full Definition
A mailing list is a customer database for wineries with demand exceeding supply. Members receive periodic allocation offers. For cult wines, lists can have multi-year waits. Members may need to purchase every release to maintain position. The allocation system creates artificial scarcity and prestige.
