A magnum is a 1.5-liter wine bottle, equivalent to two standard 750ml bottles. Magnums are considered ideal for aging because the lower ratio of oxygen (through cork) to wine volume allows slower, more graceful development. They're also impressive for entertaining, serving 10-12 glasses.
