Barbera in a more focused, transparent mode. This is the estate's top selection, and in 2021 Fabio Alessandria has pulled back on the textural weight and oak influence that defined earlier vintages, the wine is leaner, livelier, and better for it. Dark cherry, iron, dried violets and a trace of black olive. Acidity is vivid and driving, giving the wine a freshness that brings it closer in spirit to the rest of the Burlotto lineup. The concentration is there, but it doesn't announce itself, it sits quietly behind the fruit and lift.
