Pian dell'Orino Piandorino 2020

Tart red cherry, dried rose petal, warm spice and a bright citrus snap. This is a lively, focused Sangiovese, juicy acidity drives the fruit forward while fine tannins provide just enough grip to keep everything in line. Long and persistent, with a pleasantly sour edge that gives the finish real character. There's a lot going on for the appellation's entry-level bottling.

Pian dell'Orino

Small Montalcino estate run by Caroline Pobitzer and Jan Hendrick Erbach, farming biodynamically on the southwestern slope. Two single-vineyard Brunellos, Vigneti del Versante and Bassolino di Sopra, define the range.
