Quince, persimmon and toasted sesame open with real intensity, this is a wine that announces itself. Creamy and generous through the mid-palate, yet kept honest by a bright, cutting acidity that never lets the richness go soft. The backstory is striking: June hail forced the harvest all the way into November, stripping the vines bare before the fruit was picked, and that adversity reads clearly in the wine's concentration and focused, persistent drive. Impressive stuff from Morstein.
