Wittmann Riesling Westhofener trocken 2016
Lime zest, cherry, and white peach on the nose, carrying through to a palate that's tangy and lively, with a pleasant pit-fruit edge that keeps things interesting. Firm but not hard, the structure here supports rather than dominates. Thyme and chalk drift through the finish, lending a cooling, herbal freshness that balances the wine's generous, almost soothing juiciness, something of a surprise for Wittmann Riesling. Morstein is the dominant vineyard presence, with Brunnenhäuschen playing a minor supporting role in the blend.
