Leitz Riesling Rüdesheimer Magic Mountain trocken 2016
White peach, lime, and mango open with an almost haunting florality, iris and gentian lending a bittersweet edge that sets this apart from more straightforward dry Rieslings. This is a blend drawing from all four of Leitz's Rüdesheimer Berg Einzellagen, fermented and aged in large cask before bottling ahead of the single-vineyard releases. Silky in texture, generous with fruit, yet anchored by wet stone and a surge of marine salinity that pulls everything into focus on the finish. That finish rings out with remarkable purity and lift, impressive given the wine sits near 12.5% alcohol.
