Leitz Riesling Rüdesheimer Magic Mountain trocken 2015

Drawn from lesser lots across all four of Leitz's Rüdesheimer Berg sites, this trocken punches well above its station. Lime zest, grapefruit, and white peach come through with real purity and juice, threaded through with black tea, gentian, and something almost floral, iris and bittersweet herb. The texture is silken without any loss of transparency to the stony, smoky undercurrent that marks this stretch of the Rheingau. The finish holds long and saline, leaving the mouth genuinely refreshed.
