Reductive at first, then gamey complexity emerges with perfumed cherry fruit. Mocha and vanilla from assertive new oak dominate the mid-palate. Sweet maraschino cherry and brambly raspberry lead to an herbal finish. The oak-derived sweetness overwhelms the fruit's natural structure. Unusual for this cuvée. Needs time to integrate.
