The Languedoc (formerly Languedoc-Roussillon) is France's largest wine region along the Mediterranean coast. Historically known for bulk production, quality has dramatically improved with many excellent value wines and ambitious appellations (Minervois, Corbieres, Pic Saint-Loup). Climate suits Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre, and Carignan.
