Wieninger Grüner Veltliner Ries Kaasgraben Sievering 2023

From 1950-planted vines in quartz-rich loam on an elevated, southeast-facing slope above Sievering, this was fermented entirely in large old oak casks, and it shows in the texture. Linden blossom, creamy fern and a faint ivy note give the nose a quietly herbal, almost woodland character. On the palate, a lively streak of freshness cuts through the concentration, with smooth, faintly peppery yeast adding weight and presence. The finish is clean and extended, bone-dry throughout.
