Sourced from Hochrain's two distinct soil types, gneiss and loess, this is a quieter, more contemplative style of Smaragd. The nose opens gently: a trace of honey, green pear, something almost meadow-like. On the palate, it's slender and composed, with a savory undercurrent that suggests rather than announces itself. Fine-grained texture, bone-dry, and finishing with green and yellow citrus zest and pith that add a pleasing lift.
