Dark plum and crushed blackberry lead, with granite dust, wood ash, and a faint curl of smoke rising from the old schist and granite parcels. Taut and focused on the palate, fine-grained tannins knit together with lively, precise acidity before the finish snaps shut with a crack of black pepper. Wound tight but effortlessly composed. A benchmark for Morgon.
