F.X. Pichler Riesling Unendlich 2023

Sourced primarily from Kellerberg with contributions from Höhereck and Loibenberg, the 2023 Unendlich was made only from the ripest fruit, around 10% slightly shriveled, fermented in steel before eighteen months in large barrel. It was skipped in 2022 and won't be produced in 2024, which underlines just how selective this wine is. The nose opens with ripe mandarin and a lush, almost honeyed creaminess, more seductive than austere. On the palate, that richness carries through: concentrated and smooth, with citrus-driven lift that keeps the wine from feeling heavy despite its obvious weight and power. This is a wine that leaves a mark, broad-shouldered but never clumsy, with drive and purpose behind every sip.
