Quiet on the nose, offering little more than a whisper of lemon at first. The palate is where it earns attention, bone dry, coolly linear, with a thread of oaky smoke running through a lean, streamlined frame. That limestone chill is unmistakable, a signature of the Schneckenkent lieu-dit at Altenbourg's foot, where deeper soils hold water and keep everything fresh. Superb balance.
