Barmès-Buecher Riesling Leimental 2022

From a single 600-liter barrel, this is a 1972-planted parcel within the Rosenberg on clay over weathered limestone, and it shows. The nose is closed-off, almost secretive, with ripe citrus held back behind something darker and more brooding. On the palate it opens up beautifully: fluid and rounded, the clay soil giving a sense of contained richness without weight. Finishes with persistent zest and tender pith, mouth-watering and clean. The 14% is completely invisible.
