Alzinger Grüner Veltliner Mühlpoint Federspiel 2022

Sourced from directly below the Steinertal vineyard, where loamier soils blend loess with eroded gneiss debris. Yellow and green pear lead the nose, with sage and a generous hit of white pepper ground into the fruit. There's a roundness to the body and fruit weight, but the wine stays composed, elongated and polished rather than soft. Lovely pepperiness carries through to a clean, dry finish. A graceful Federspiel that punches above its station.
