The Sadie Family Wines Soldaat 2021

Pale in the glass, almost deceptively so, Sadie notes this Grenache carries more tannin than its colour suggests, along with significant carbonic gas from bottling. The nose is distinctive and slightly reductive, offering red cherry, redcurrant and a cool, stony character that feels very much of the Swartland. On the palate it's medium-bodied and transparent, with fine-grained tannins, hints of sage and white pepper, and a brittle, mineral finish that lingers with impressive clarity. That purity is the wine's defining quality, focused and precise from start to finish.
