From two elevated parcels on a volcanic plateau, one planted in 1908, the other in 1934/35, rooting through iron-rich loam and clay with limestone beneath. The nose opens with pure cherry and a faint edge of blood, a thread of conifer weaving through, then settles into petrichor and wild blueberry with more time in the glass. On the palate, bright red cherry cuts through denser, earthier tannins, the acidity vivid and driving, pulling between tart cherry and Morello in a way that feels alive and focused. The balance is impeccable, with that tart fruit echoing long on the finish. Bone-dry.
