G.D. Vajra Nebbiolo Claré J.C. 2021

Bright, translucent ruby with a violet-tinged rim. The nose leads with crushed flowers, ripe blackberry and lavender, sharpened by a lift of sour citrus. On the palate it's light on its feet, tart wild berry fruit driven by zippy acidity, leaving a mineral, stone-laced trail behind. The finish bites with a raw cranberry crunch and a pleasantly bitter edge, yet stays fresh throughout. Made from younger Nebbiolo vines with around 20% whole-cluster fruit, the Claré J.C. is built to be a throwback in style: lighter, a touch off-dry, and genuinely playful. Serve with a brief chill to let that character shine.
