From 1991 vines rooted in the limestone soils of Sonnenglanz Hill's upper slopes, this is lean and precise, with a quiet nose that slowly gives up smoke, damp earth and forest floor. On the palate, bright strawberry and a snap of white and black pepper carry the mid-weight frame. Mossy, woodland undertones weave through, while vivid acidity and a fine veil of tannins keep everything taut and alive. Svelte and expressive.
