Alheit Vineyards Lost And Found 2021

Alheit's debut straw wine, made from pure Muscat d'Alexandria after two aborted attempts, arrives with serious intent. The nose is almost confrontational in its richness, dried fig, quince paste, orange marmalade and honey pressed into something dense and concentrated. On the palate, that weight carries through: Seville orange, five-spice and preserved quince building toward a finish that doesn't relent. At 7% alcohol, it wears all that intensity lightly. A bold, fully realised first effort.
