Smoke and white pepper cut through the baked pear on the nose, a signature of those pre-war granite vines in Niedermorschwihr. The palate is plush but grounded, stone fruit generosity held in check by a cool, mineral spine. Savory rather than sweet on the finish, and impressively long.
