Dark fruit, smoke and dried herbs on the nose, musky red currant, strawberry conserve and a grilled, almost charred edge that gives it real character. Soft-textured but lively, with fleshy ripe fruit held in check by a core of brisk acidity that keeps things honest. The finish is long and faintly balsamic, trailing off with a sweet spice note that sticks around. Dangerously easy drinking for a Rosso di Montalcino.
