A whisper of smoke on the nose, then the palate takes over with real authority, dried orange peel, a vivid citrus snap, and concentrated fruit that belies the heat of the vintage. The volcanic greywacke sandstone of Kitterlé gives this its characteristic backbone: linear, muscular, tightly coiled. The finish is long and bright, all citrus zest and precision. Bone-dry.
