Volcanic grauwacke and clay from this light-catching hillside site come through in the wine's cool, mineral precision. The massal selection's small berries drive an acidity that feels almost Riesling-like in its brightness, lemon zest and crisp pear rather than the broad, honeyed weight Pinot Gris so often defaults to. The finish rounds gently without losing that sharp, clean thread. Unusually elegant for the variety.
