Schlumberger Riesling Le Clos Saint Léger Monopole Grand Cru 2018

Dried herbs, warm stone and a waxy creaminess on the nose, this is unmistakably Alsatian in character. The palate is dense and richly textured right now, built around ripe orchard fruit, Mirabelle plum and a deep, stony core that anchors everything. Lemon pith and quince carry through to a long, mineral-edged finish. The structure is there for the long haul; give it time and that texture will resolve into something more fluid and complete.
