Odinstal Gewürztraminer trocken 350 N.N. 2018
Rose petal, caraway, black pepper, and celery root leap from the glass, unmistakably Gewürztraminer, and unabashedly aromatic. On the palate there's a faint soapiness that mirrors the floral intensity, alongside a savory, meat-broth quality that adds real depth and keeps the finish interesting. Schumann wisely kept whole-cluster inclusion to around 10%, and the resulting grip and textural firmness feel well-judged for a variety that can easily turn flabby. That said, 14.5% alcohol leaves its mark with some warmth, and while there's enough structure here to suggest some development, expectations for the drinking window should stay modest.
