Wieninger Brut Nature Blanc de Noirs Grosse Reserve 2017

Pure Pinot Noir from Bisamberg's chalky soils, partially barrel-fermented and aged 5.5 years on lees before disgorgement in September 2023. Lemon oil and dried white currant dominate the nose, precise and lifted. The mousse is fine and lively, leading into a bone-dry, concentrated palate where that citrus character holds firm alongside a slight phenolic edge and an evolving touch of honey. Vigorous and fresh, this is food wine through and through, the kind of Champagne-method sparkling that earns its place at the table rather than the aperitif hour.
