Freisa with its rough edges smoothed but its soul intact. Wild cherry, dried plum, licorice and tobacco come forward immediately, followed by grilled herbs, coffee and a dusting of spice. The Vajras have clearly worked to refine this variety without stripping what makes it interesting, there's real varietal identity here, held together by a structure that feels harmonious rather than forced. The tannins retain a bit of grip and angularity, which is Freisa being Freisa at this level of ambition. Give it a year or two to settle and it will be genuinely lovely.
