Ceritas Pinot Noir Occidental Vineyard 2017

Dark and brooding from the first pour. The Calera clone at Occidental gives this Pinot a density that sets it apart, black cherry, dried plum, licorice and incense layered over new leather and a curl of smoke. Full-bodied yet classically proportioned, with the weight distributed evenly across a firm tannic frame. There's real gravitas here, the kind that only comes from a vineyard with something to say. Already complete, but give it three to five years and it will reward the patience handsomely.
