Pax Syrah Alder Springs Vineyard 2016

Powerful but unbalanced, with brooding black fruit, leather and mineral notes that feel scattered across the palate. The structure dominates here. Massive tannins overshadow the fruit and create a hard, angular finish. There's clearly serious material underneath, but it needs years to soften and integrate.
