Gravel, tobacco leaf and black cherry create an earthy, contemplative nose that speaks to Calistoga's volcanic soils. The palate shows restraint despite concentrated fruit, with chalky tannins providing backbone without overwhelming the wine's natural elegance. Finishes with iron minerality and dried sage. Needs cellaring to fully integrate. Drink 2025-2038.
